Record Slack huddles with a transcript
Huddles are where quick decisions get made, and they leave nothing behind. Add RecordMeeting to Chrome, open Slack in the browser, and record any huddle with a button right next to Share screen.

Record, transcribe, and share Slack calls from one place
No paid plan needed
Works regardless of your Slack subscription tier.
Transcript in 50+ languages
Automatic language detection, speaker labels, and timestamps.
AI summary and action items
Key decisions and follow-ups extracted automatically from the transcript.
Private workspace, no bots
Nothing extra appears in the call. Recordings stay in your own workspace.
The problem
Why recording Slack is harder than it should be
Decisions made in a huddle vanish when it ends
A huddle is live by design. Once everyone leaves, the agreement, the numbers someone quoted and the follow-ups are only in people's memory, and the channel shows nothing but a duration.
Someone has to take notes instead of taking part
Quick calls rarely have a note taker. Either the person who knows the topic best types while talking, or the recap is written from memory an hour later and half of it is wrong.
Teammates who missed the huddle ask for a recap
In distributed teams the people who needed the context are often in another time zone. Without a recording or transcript, the same conversation gets repeated in a thread.
A bot joining a quick huddle changes the conversation
Adding a notetaker bot to a two-minute huddle is awkward and slows the call down. Teams want to hit record and keep talking, not manage another participant.
How it works
RecordMeeting on Slack
RecordMeeting adds a record button to the Slack huddle window, right next to Share screen. Click it, choose Audio only or Video, pick your microphone and press Start. The recording contains everyone's voices plus your microphone, and in video mode it also captures the huddle window with participants and shared screens. When you leave the huddle the recording stops, and your private workspace gets a transcript with speakers, an AI summary and a share link. No bot joins the huddle, and participants are not alerted.
Open in Chrome
Open the Slack meeting link in Chrome with RecordMeeting installed.
Click record
Start recording from the extension. The call is captured from your browser tab.
Get the transcript
After the call, your recording and full transcript land in your workspace.
Use cases
Who records Slack calls with RecordMeeting
Engineering syncs and debugging huddles
Record the huddle where you tracked down a production issue. The transcript captures the root cause, the fix that was agreed and who owns the follow-up, ready to paste into the ticket.
Standups and team check-ins
Capture recurring check-ins and share the AI summary with teammates in other time zones, so nobody needs a separate recap thread.
Customer and partner calls on shared channels
When a customer or partner joins a huddle from a shared channel, keep a record of what was promised and send the summary afterwards.
Interviews and research conversations
Record user interviews and expert calls held in huddles, then search the transcript for quotes instead of replaying the whole call.
"I use it for Google Meet calls - super convenient: one click and the meeting is recorded, and afterwards you automatically get a transcript in a Google Doc with speaker labels and timestamps. A big plus for privacy: it doesn’t add any “bots” to the participant list, everything stays clean and professional. Search across meetings and 2×/3× playback are must-haves to quickly pull out decisions and action items. A real lifesaver for work, highly recommend!"
