Most subtitle problems are a fixed delay: every line appears two seconds early or half a second late, because the file was made for a different release or the video was trimmed. Some files drift instead, fine at the start and seconds off by the end, because they were timed for a different frame rate. This tool fixes both and shows the corrected times before you download.
How it works

Choose the subtitle file
Drop an .srt or .vtt file on the page or paste the text. The corrected file keeps the same name and format, so your player loads it automatically.

Say what is wrong
For a fixed delay, pick whether the subtitles appear too early or too late and by how many seconds. Use the buttons to fine-tune by a tenth of a second.

Fix drift if the gap grows
Choose Gradual drift, then set the correct time for two lines far apart, or pick the frame rates of the subtitles and the video.

Check the preview and download
The first lines show their old and new times. Download the corrected file when they look right.
How to measure the delay
Play the video and pause the moment a short word is spoken. Note the time, then find that line in the subtitles. The difference is the delay. In VLC you can also press G and H to move subtitles in 50 millisecond steps and read the delay off the screen.
Fixed delay or drift
Check a line near the start and one near the end. If both are off by the same amount, it is a fixed delay. If the end is off by more, the subtitles drift, usually because they were made for 25 fps and the video is 23.976 fps, which adds up to more than two minutes per hour.
Why this cannot fix Netflix or Prime Video
Streaming services keep their subtitles on their servers, so there is no file to correct. Report the problem to the service, or restart the episode, which often resets the timing.
